Q The purpose of this assignment is to examine the structure of a non-U.S. cultural group and provide an in-depth analysis of that particular cultural group. You are to continue to research the same non-U.S. culture that you used for your Cultural Profile#1 . You will gather information from class materials, the text, and outside sources of research to continue building a cultural profile of that particular group. This writing assignment (Cultural Profile#3) should address 3 main points or discussion points: 1) Cultural Patterns-Choose one of the cultural patterns or cultural pattern typologies that your book describes and assess your culture (choose one of Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck's Value Orientations, High-Context/Low-Context, one of Hofstede's Value Dimensions, one of Minkov's Cultural Dimensions, etc...you do not have to choose one from each, just choose one cultural pattern/value/orientation/typology from the book that you think best fits or describes your culture). 2) The use of language (both what languages are used, by whom, and how they are used in terms of language patterns/practices) within the culture 3) Explain the use of nonverbal communication (patterns and behaviors) within the culture. Keep in mind that nonverbal communication includes many things (appearance, body movement, space and distance, etc.).
